Old Republic Post Ruusan Reformations

The reformations altered the structure of the Republic and changed it’s relationship to the Jedi Order. The threat of the Sith was believed to be over. But people feared the Jedi’s powers, and that the elected government had no official control over them. So the Jedi agreed to be moved under the authority of the Judiciary. They still took assignments on request and answered only to the Jedi Council, and that to the Supreme Chancellor. But they no longer held elected or official positions as they had of old.

This period after the reformations until the Republic’s fall lasted somewhere around a millenia: at least a thousand years.
